Micchami Dukkadam - a celebration for forgiving

Jains (followers of Jainism) across the world are celebrate a beautiful festival by telling each other Micchami Dukkadam.

In life, we crisscross on interests all the time. In this process knowingly or unknowingly we mess up with people or otherwise. We tend to carry a lot of baggage and stress in relationships for petty things.

By Micchami Dukkadam (मिच्छामी दुक्कड़म), the person means I hereby ask your forgiveness for deeds which have hurt you knowing or unknowingly.

Believe me this is of more value for one who asks forgiveness more than the forgiver.

Following are the benefits I think of by asking for Micchami Dukkadam:
1. We feel stress free and lite only on asking for forgiveness
2. It sets up an immediate and intimate connect with the other person
3. Not only people but situations start favoring us as we start brushing off negativity.

This mantra should be for the whole world not limiting it to jains.

Only point is that one needs to say the Mantra called "Micchami Dukkadam" in true spirit more than words.....
