Help towards Freedom

Out compassion, we help our friends, culleagues and even unknown. But is that help long lasting? If someone is fed once, does the hunger vanishes for even?

In my view point, one needs to develop a bit of longterm perspective towards help instead of building dependance. One must ask certain questions as to Is the helped developing more dependance? If the helped loosing his confidence? Is the helped handicaped? If the anwer is yes to any of the above questions, one should start helping "In a Different Way". Help for short term may be a handicap in the long term.

Hence, the Bhagvadgeeta says "Shreyan dravyamayad yagnad gnan yagna: parantap" the donatin of knowledge is more important then that of materialistic things. This means gnana which is relatively permenant if shared is better then sharing materialistic things which are temperory and fragile.

Let's help people so that they never need help again. Let us support people to so that they grow independent. Let us install confidence and remove dependance. I think that is right help, right yagna, right compansion. That is what is been expected from a Guru in India and may be started to be know is Moksha (Freedom) in this material world itself.
